Red Beans & Rice Side Dish A mouth watering side for lots of meals. We like it topped with a fish filet or chicken breast. A slice of corn bread and you have good eatin'. What is Alpha-gal?
Servings: 8 to 10
Prep time: 30 min + soak over night
Cooking time: 3 to 4 hr crock pot
Directions Soak beans overnight in water, salt and 1 tsp vinegar. Add beans, broth, salt, pepper, chili powder and enough water to cover well to stock pot simmer for at least 2 hrs. Longer is better, keep adding water to keep covered and stir occasionally. After the beans are well cooked add the remaining ingredients and simmer until the ground turkey is cooked. Cook rice until tender about 30 min before serving time. Spoon rice onto plate or in a bowl, cover with red beans and top with a sautéed fish filet, chicken breast or shrimp. Alternative Recipe Ideas
